What is Botox?

Botox is a purified protein that is a non-surgical, physician administered treatment that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines. It can also be used on crow’s feet, chins, noses, foreheads and around the mouth reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Is Botox safe?

Botox is FDA approved in the United States and used in over 75 countries. Over 3 million doses of Botox are administered each year.

What is treatment like?

During treatment, very low doses of Botox are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines. Very little discomfort is felt and the duration is very short.

How long do treatments take?

The treatment is usually done in about 10 minutes. Continued below...

What kind of results can I expect?

Within days, you can expect to start seeing results. Lines continue to improve for up to a month and results can last up to 4 months.

Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?

Although results are visible, a treatment with Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you “had work done”. The muscle activity that causes frown lines is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles!

What about recovery time?

The recovery is immediate with normal activity being resumed right after treatment.

Has Botox been found to help with any other conditions?

Yes! Botox can be used for hyperhidrosis (extreme sweating). Some insurance plans may cover this procedure. Ask your physician if this could be helpful for you!

Where should I go for my Botox treatments?

We recommend getting your Botox injections from a board-certified dermatologist that is experienced in cosmetic procedures.

Can Botox be combined with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes! Botox can be combined with dermal fillers or laser treatments resulting in a more overall youthful appearance.
